Overall a very nice campground for big rigs with large, level spaces. No problems getting into sites. If you need internet access don't depend on this stop...it's poor. Yes, you can get it at your site, but they restrict bandwidth, so it's basically email. Otherwise it's slow/unusable. If you need it for business on the road, look elsewhere. For the price of the place we were disappointed with this little issue.

This campground is worth driving the extra miles off the interstate for. The sites are how they all should be...hookups were great, long, level, concrete sites, manicured lawns, and a fishing pond. The Wi-Fi was fast and easy. The showers (individual ones) were clean and excellent. Definitely will stay here again.

Outstanding state park. We arrived in a 40' motorhome towing a Jeep and were able to easily find a pullthrough site so we didn't have to unhook. However, we wish we could have stayed for several days. Awesome views, clean park, interesting-looking hiking trails, birding, etc. Might be difficult for people with dogs. LOTS of prickery cactus (especially chollas that 'jump.'), but they do keep the campsites very clean of whatever they can. I'd highly recommend this as a stop for several days.

Some nice changes this year. Totally redone restrooms and showers. Also, redone pool and spa area. All lovely now. If you are on the upper area, you will have large sites which rate a 9 or 10. If you are on the lower sites, in a smaller RV, you would rate them a 5 or so. However, the management and staff are terrific, the maintenance is above average, and the new bathrooms, pool, and spa are excellent and rate a 10. A little tight to get around in, but overall the best place in San Diego if you are needing to stay in the northern section of the county.

This park was a dissapointment based on the 10 it received from a previous visitor. We found the grass sites very bumpy to get to in our motorhome, the electric hookup was 50 amp, but we had a "caution light" constantly on our SurgeGuard, and there were obvious "long termers" there for a long time...plants planted around, etc. It was very good for what it was, but don't expect a "10" resort or even an "8" RV Park. Nice trees, shade, river access for boaters.

Weird park. If you are a family with kids, this is great. Lots of things for kids to do. However, when making reservations, make sure to ask what is available at your site. Some have assorted hookups. Can be noisy with kids all over and tenters having a good time, so if you want quiet, move on. Sites vary a lot by price and amenities. Some areas are crowded, others not as much. Expensive sites can face some long-term trailers. No "instant on" phones. WiFi varies by site. Agree with fellow camper who said too many teenage workers who are not professional. Poor supervision of pool rules, etc. (toddlers in spa, etc.) Laundry small, as are showers. Good BBQ on site. High shade is nice. Overall, good for families, but expensive for what it is.

Rated a 7 only because of limited facilities but this is an excellent stopover type of campground. Just what many of us want. Easy in and out, good power, water, and sewer, and that's it. All nice wide, long pull-throughs with no trees for problems. Self check-in was fastest ever. Adjacent to, but not owned by, the Rolling Hills Casino, so you have a restaurant and entertainment right next door. No rest rooms or any other facilities in the park, but truck area had services. Clearly an overnight spot, but excellent for what it is. Number of sites is an estimate. We'll stop again.

OK park, but not on holiday weekends when lack of supervision (and poor parenting) caused the pool and spas to be overrun with kids. No kids allowed in the spas, but children as young as 18 months were in them. Need more chairs around the pool area. Power is just OK. (At least at our site.) Short sites, and narrow parking areas (why do they always try to limit us to our wheelbase width?), dirt/sand otherwise. I thought being a new park it would be better laid out, but they still haven't figured out the perfect park yet. It's a nice park, but it has some growing pains to get through.

Wifi limited to only a few spaces. Clean and reasonable laundry, spotless bathrooms. Agree re:staff. Good power with 106 temps. All this refers to their newer section.

Very surprised to find this oasis on 395. Lovely rec room with morning coffee and fresh muffins. Nice animals for the kids to see and nice grassy play area. Dirt/sand sites, but long enough to not have to unhook from a 40' motorhome. Nice little store. Pool and spa were clean. We'll return whenever we take 395 again.

Potential power problems here. Make sure to check. We've burned a 30 amp adapter, had multiple power outages on another site, and low voltage (110) on most recent site. Wifi weak. Sites very tight and difficult for larger rigs. No extra parking for visitors. However, bathrooms and laundry are very clean, as is the pool. Jacuzzi is very good and clean and large. Good for families who want to be near the beach, though. Expensive for what you get but this is California.

Very tight for our 40' motorhome, and will be tight depending on whether there's a 5th wheel/truck near you. Had to ask the neighbor to move their car. Many sites had unusable sloping area in front, so length of site is deceiving. Wifi was via a slow intranet, so only paid for an hour. Katie's Restaurant in the hotel was good. Diesel sold on site. Difficult to enter 395 if heading south after staying here. Will not bother to stay again.

First, know that they do not have Wi-Fi throughout the park, so if that's important make sure to specify. Also, their phones are not Instant On. They are available if you are staying long term and want a phone hookup. Their advertising is a little misleading on both. This seems a work in progress. Some sites very nice, others just regular. Expensive, but this is a resort town. Lovely pool and spa (inside) and lodge.

Will return to this park. Plenty of long, level spaces for large rigs in open areas backing to Redwoods or in open grassy areas. A little tight going out the exit road, but doable. Loved the quiet and convenience. I'm getting wi-fi in one of the sites, but they say it's only available in the office. Free. Not much for kids to do in the park. It seems to cater to seasonals. Our circle had all new 50 amp service. Nice people in office. Near the Redwoods and the beaches along the scenic drive.

Lovely park, next to a large park (great for kids), quiet, large pull-throughs, nice-sized spaces. Inside pool and spa and clean rest rooms. Small exercise room and rec room. Concrete pads and cable TV. Phone lines available at sites for longer term residents. NO WIFI, that's the only drawback here. This is great for exploring the area or just an overnight. Easy access.

This is a welcomed park, located at the junction of Route 12 and I-5, diagonally opposite the Flying J Truck Stop. The sites are level, concrete, mostly pull-throughs, with picnic tables. Internet is by accessing it through your onsite instant phone using a box they'll provide for you (DSL). Bathrooms (totally private showers) were spotless, as were the clubhouse, pool, spa, etc. The only oversight we saw is that the width of the sites are very narrow by today's standards. When one has a rig with multiple slideouts you will always be walking on their groundcover to access the sides of the motorhomes. Also, your picnic table will be opposite your neighbor's hookups. We will stop again, however. Very pleasant place.

Located just off I-5, 400 miles north of San Diego, this is a terrific stopover. Open sites, walking distance to Starbuck's, Wendy's, etc. Very clean and neat. Very little freeway noise. We'll probably use this as a "regular stopover" enroute to OR/WA, etc. from San Diego.

We stayed in this park several months and loved it. The location, on the very north edge of Phoenix is great for using it as a point to explore places like Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc. The park is neat, clean, facilities were very nice. We had a "double site" which gave us some extra space which was nice. A new shopping center with Walmart, Lowe's, etc. is just one exit north. Just be aware that the office has very limited hours, but don't despair...you can show up and they will have posted sites available for you to use if nobody is there. We'd definitely stay here again.

Overall a nice park if you have a smaller rig and especially if you plan to stay for awhile. They appeared to have nice facilities. However, if you are in a "big rig" it will be difficult. Deep curbs are a nuisance. "Big Rig" area is just a parking area with hookups. They don't have much room in that, so make sure to have reservations for that area if you plan to go.

We had an excellent site. Private, with trees on each side, but not overhanging. It was an excellent location for touring the Vancouver area without having to take the RV further into town, which is difficult. It's only 20 minutes or so to the main ferry to Vancouver Island (Butchart Gardens, etc.), and about 45-60 minutes to Vancouver's main business district, cruise terminals, etc. Wifi is available in the office area or laundry/rec room until closing (9 pm Summer). Free. We'd recommend it and will stay there again.

Unless you are in the "Premium" part of the park (at the price of $41) you will be in just a so-so park and not one that would be "the highest rated park in Canadian Rockies". The spa you get to use is a "public pool/spa" and is crowded and has babies in it in diapers...who knows what is 'in the water' by the evening. The condition of the spa is poor (peeling paint/concrete). Lifeguards didn't seem to mind the babies in the spa. Also, in addition to the $41/night you have to pay extra to use the spa/pool...a hefty sum for a family...we paid $7 each to enter once a day...daily rate was $10 each. It all adds up! The guests of the resort use a different pool/spa. Internet kiosk in the laundry ($1 for 10 minutes), but WiFi available in the lounge of the main building. (Free) I wouldn't bother to stop here again. I'd stay longer at Whistler or Lake Louise!

Awesome location! Lovely park with easy access, easy hookups, clean, wifi throughout (free), and surrounded by the most beautiful scenery! I'd HIGHLY recommend staying here. Big Rig friendly. No trees. Satellite possible. Nice folks running it. Definite come-back-to park.
